I feel like I have had a secret obsession this year and I can’t believe it has taken me this long to tell you all about it… If you have read my posts for a while, you know that our children suffer from eczema, especially our sons. So, we have tried so many different things to put on their skin from dry skin creams, to suntan lotions to bug sprays. With eczema, certain areas of your skin have tiny cuts, so different creams, sprays and lotions can cause intense pain when applied – especially bug sprays, but gnats are attracted to those eczema cuts. We felt like we were in a no-win situation.

Two images of Bug Away Bug Repellent

While my husband and I were vacationing in Asheville, NC for our 15 year wedding anniversary, we attended a street fair and happened upon a booth with herbal soaps and natural solutions – one of them being a bug repellent – Bug Away by Balmzara.com. We decided to buy it and give it a try! This little tub, which reminds me of deodorant, is about $5, but it doesn’t sting our children’s skin and keeps the gnats away; it is also super easy and convenient to carry. What a huge lifesaver this has been for my family.
