In my profession, my eyesight is really important and living in a house full of people who were glasses, I know a thing or two about what makes a great eye doctor. My mini-me, Brenna, had been struggling with headaches for almost the last year. We had been to a variety of doctors – neurologists, allergists and our primary doctor a variety of times, ruling out anything serious that was going on. All the tests kept coming back negative; she was diagnosed with allergies and we thought that maybe Brenna was just suffering from migraines like I do at times, but my “Mom instinct” kept telling me there was something more going on. After discussing what was happening with a friend of mine, she said, “Has Brenna seen an eye doctor?” Well, fancy that… NO!
I didn’t even stop to think about who I was going to bring Brenna to for her exam, because all the boys in our house go to Stanton Eye Optical. The doctors are amazing!! I have told them that they are the best with kids – super professional, kid-friendly and really sweet. The eye exam is $29 and it goes toward the purchase of glasses. They always have buy one/get one and you can pick them up the same day (which we did for Brenna)!
Now, if only Stanton Eye Optical could take care of 3 kids with flu, this week would get a whole lot better, but I guess we will just settle for our Tamiflu and chicken noodle soup cocktail! Thank goodness all the kids have glasses to be able to see the TV and read books as they recover in bed!
